“Life’s Change Agent”- Steve Jobs 2005 Stanford commencement address

As you may know already, yesterday Steve Jobs passed away. It would be pretty easy just to say that he created the iphone, ipod and mac, that isn’t even the half of what he did. He changed the way people go about their everyday lives and the way that we interact with each other. He revolutionized the world of technology, so much that competitors had to keep up with him. In the following speech at Stanford, Steve called death “life’s change agent,” saying it “clears out the old to make way for the new.” Steve was himself a change agent, making way for the new with his life’s work, but he deserved so much more time than the 56 years he was given. Below is his inspiring speech from 2005, as well as a quote that I feel applies to all creatives trying to find their way without knowing exactly where they’re going:

Again, you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

2011 Nike Mag: Back For The Future

Nike releases the most famous shoes never made in effort of supporting the Michael J. Fox for Parkinson’s Research. The shoes are being auctioned off here on ebay. They are sort of unattainable for the average person, but on the bright side, the sales from the Nike Air Mag will help benefit the fight against Parkinson’s disease.

Taz Arnold

"The Americans"If you’ve never heard of Taz Arnold, I am very sure you’ve seen his line of clothing, TI$A worn by different artist in the game (Chris Brown, Big Sean, Jadakiss etc). He can be called a pioneer of our time, a rebel, or a modern day innovator because of his unique style and unparalleled brand. Although everyone has their opinions about Taz and the TI$A brand, I look at him as being unique and a great influence to our generation.
